Draper Temple open house

Last week we decided to be brave and take little John to the Draper temple open house. I was really worried that he'd scream the whole way through and that I'd be totally embarrassed by my irreverent child. But miraculously he was a little angel. Thankfully it wasn't very busy so we could keep moving at a pretty steady pace and he slept through the first half. Then when we got to the Celestial room he opened his big blue eyes and just stared at the big, shiny chandelier. I was astounded, this kid is never quiet--not even when he's sleeping! I'm pretty sure he knew he was in a special place.

To keep people warm they have all these tent-tunnels leading up to the entrance so we didn't get a good picture of the temple, but here we are on the bus.

Literally two seconds after I took this shot little John started to wail. I guess he knew the tour was over and he didn't feel like sticking around for cookies! Maybe next time I need a break from his fussing we'll just go hang out in the waiting room of the nearest temple!
