Cure for the bumps and bruises
Johnny was not too thrilled about having his picture taken here, but it's the only one I have that semi-illustrates the lovely bruises that have been covering his forehead lately. He is running all over the place these days, but he still hasn't figured out that the head is NOT a good appendage to catch yourself with when you fall.
So we came up with this! Those ski poles might be a tad bit dangerous, but the helmet and goggles give him just the cushioning he needs for those nose dives.
On another note, since I never did a Christmas post I thought I'd tell you the tale of the disappearing baby Jesus. As evidenced by the picture below, little J loves to carry around the baby Jesus from our manger scene. In fact, I don't think the baby got to sleep in his bed of hay all month. We were always losing baby Jesus but usually within a day or two I could find him under the couch cushions, in a boot, hidden in the fridge, etc.
But after this picture (below) was taken on Christmas morning I could not find him anywhere! I was even starting to wonder if Johnny really DID eat baby Jesus, but after 2 weeks and no sign in the poop I figured he was probably just down a heating vent or something.
But then, I was sitting and chatting with a friend in the living room last night and my eye caught hold of a tiny speck under the corner of our love-seat cover--baby Jesus' arm! I was so excited to show big J and little J what I had found this morning and Johnny was so excited to see his favorite little "toy" that I couldn't help but give it to him for a minute. I said goodbye to John and was literally back in the living room within seconds but baby Jesus was already nowhere to be found! I have been turning things inside out all day (mostly because it just baffles me that he manages to lose things SO fast!) but alas, he's nowhere to be found. Oh well, I guess we can just have a new game at our house called "find baby Jesus". Anyone want to come over and play? I'll make treats for the winner!

I love the ski-gear photos. What a crack up!
..and it was wonderful to chat last night. I could've talked all night had sleep not consumed both of us!
Thanks for letting me come by, dear friend!
talk soon
Haha, so funny! My girls are in love with the baby Jesus too. Luckily we found him Christmas Eve so the nativity was a full set.
Yay!!! I love this post. (Not that I'm glad that Jesus is missing, I just think it's funny... :) When we were growing up, we had a little nativity scene too. My pop would make rice pudding and put the baby jesus in it and serve everyone pudding for dessert. Whom ever found baby Jesus in their pudding was the winner (!!!) and as a prize, got to place baby jesus in the manger. (We never put him in the scene until christmas eve...
